The Deadite Empire is a zombie “social club” (a formal association of people with similar interests). Dead Fish and Creepy Pippy started this club in November of 2007 with the desire and interest to unite the haunt community in the Tampa Bay area. They had so many ideas and have played the Muse so many times in the past, yet they were dissatisfied with how the interpretation of their visions has been altered when their advice had been taken. The solution was simple; start their own club. With the onslaught of zombie awareness through out the nation and the love they have for zombie stories, they decided to make the club zombie based as the best option. They are certain that their hundreds of members agree!
It can proudly be said that The Deadite Empire is the premiere zombie social club in the Tampa Bay area. First the research was done to see if there even was such a thing around here. They had found that there had not even been a zombie walk. So the idea was to get a zombie walk going to see if people would be interested. They chose the night of the Castle’s 1-year zombie party anniversary. When a close friend asked Creepy Pippy how many people was to be expected the response was, “Oh, maybe 20 or 50”. To their surprise close to 250 people showed up! The new club marched the streets of Ybor starting from The Dirty Shame where they started with zombie games and of course drinking at the bar. It was so successful that Dead Fish and Creepy Pippy decided Tampa was in dire need of a zombie social club. Their idea became so popular in the Tampa Bay area, that you can now find a good handful of similar clubs and similar events that model the structure of The Deadite Empire events in this city.
The Deadite Empire does not care who you are, what you do for a living, what your beliefs are, or anything else you might be judged on. Just like the “T-Virus”, none of these things matter to the infected. The Deadite Empire attracts different races, multiple belief systems, and multiple lifestyles. The things that matter to The Deadite Empire is what all the members have in common, which is; zombies, horror and haunt related things, and having a good time. If you are offended by anything you see on this site, in the fliers and cards, or at the gatherings; then you need to learn to get a sense of humor and open your mind and heart. If you cannot do these things, then your mindset is not wanted in this Club. They are zombies after all; they don’t want a closed mind, they want…. Brains.
